BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. Turkish ports handled 3.9 million of cargo from India from January through August 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, 52,510 tons of the cargo were delivered to Turkish ports under the flag of Türkiye, and 3.8 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
From January through August this year, no cargo was delivered to Turkish ports by India-flagged ships.
In the reporting period, Turkish ports handled 2.3 million tons of transit cargo from India, the ministry added.
Turkish ports totally transshipped over 33.4 million tons of cargo in August 2022.
In the reporting month, ships under the flag of Türkiye delivered 2.3 million tons of cargo, and ships under the flags of other countries – 31 million tons to the ports.
Furthermore, 6.2 million tons of transit cargo were delivered to the Turkish ports.
Turkish ports totally handled 264.6 million tons of cargo from January through August 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports in the specified period amounted to 18.9 million tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries – 245.69 million tons.
Meanwhile, Turkish ports handled 54 million tons of transit cargo from January through August 2022.
