BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5. The public debt of Azerbaijan will make up 11.8 percent of GDP in 2022, Trend reports via the October report of the World Bank (WB).

According to the report, in 2023 the country's public debt can reach 10.7 percent of GDP, and in 2024 - 11 percent of GDP.

According to the Ministry of Finance, as of July 1, 2022, Azerbaijan's direct public debt was estimated at 14.9 billion manat ($8.7 billion), or 13 percent of GDP, including domestic debt - of 2.78 billion manat ($1.64 billion), or 2.4 percent of GDP, and external debt - $7.16 billion (10.6 percent of GDP).

As of January 1, 2022, the total public debt of the country was estimated at 16.89 billion manat ($9.94 billion), including 3.68 billion manat ($2.16 billion) for internal, and $8.13 billion - external debt.
