BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27. The cargo transshipment through the Port of Iskenderun of Türkiye amounted to 44.6 million tons from January through September 2022, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told TurkicWorld, Trend reports on October 27.
According to the ministry, 965,160 tons were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 43.7 million tons - were by ships under the flags of other countries.
In the first nine months of this year, the Iskenderun port transshipped 841,775 tons of transit cargo, the ministry said.
Turkish ports handled 269.57 million tons of freight from January through September 2022.
Ships under the Turkish flag transferred 21.3 million tons of cargo, whereas ships under the flags of other countries – had 275.2 million tons.
Moreover, during this period, Turkish ports transshipped 60.67 million tons of transit cargo.
