Türkiye reveals cargo traffic volume from Greece via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 28. Turkish ports handled 10.6 million tons of cargo from Greece from January through September 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 871,372 tons of cargo, while ships under the flags of other countries – 9.5 million tons to local ports.

During this period, 232,722 tons of transit cargo were transshipped by Greece-flagged ships to Turkish ports.

Meanwhile, 1.6 million tons of transit freight were delivered from Greece to Turkish ports.

The domestic ports handled 31.99 million tons of cargo in September 2022.

In the reporting period, ships flying the flag of Türkiye transshipped 2.209 million tons, whereas ships under the flags of other countries equaled 29.7 million tons.

In September 2022, ports of Türkiye delivered 6.635 million tons of transit cargo.

A total of 269.57 million tons of freight were transferred by Turkish ports in the first nine months of 2022.

During this period, cargo traffic by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 21.3 million tons, whilst by ships under the flags of other countries – 275.238 million tons.

From January through September 2022, Turkish ports transshipped 60.67 million tons of transit cargo.
