A highly efficient generation complex at the "Azerbaijan" thermal power plant will increase the operation efficiency of the TPP by 18 percent - to 56 percent, Baba Rzayev, president of "Azerenergy" JSC ", said, Trend reports via hiss article, published in the "Azerbaijan" newspaper.
According to Rzayev, at the same time, annual electricity generation will amount to 12.5 billion kilowatt hours.
As a result of the connection of steam turbines of the 7th and 8th power units of the TPP to the 1,280-megawatt power plant, at the same time, the total capacity will reach 1,880 megawatts, Rzayev added.
As the president of "Azerenergy" noted, the creation of the new station is aimed at ensuring the country’s energy stability, creating additional generating capacity, meeting energy demand, increasing export opportunities, environmental protection, Saving natural gas in electricity generation, preventing climate-related disasters and opening new jobs in the region.
