BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. The total number of Azerbaijani tourists who visited foreign countries increased from January through November 2022, the State Tourism Agency told Trend.
According to the agency, this figure amounted to nearly 1.1 million people, up by 250,932 (29.2 percent) on annual basis.
In the first 11 months of this year, Azerbaijani tourists visited Türkiye, Russia, Georgia, Iran, the countries of the Middle East and others.
"The majority of Azerbaijanis visited Türkiye (525,910 people), Russia (197,133 people), Iran (123.495 thousand people), Georgia (94,666 people), the Middle East (56,348 people), Central Asia (48,404 people), as well as the countries of Eastern and Western Europe, America, and Africa," the agency said.
The number of foreign tourists visiting Azerbaijan from January through November 2022 amounted to about 1.5 million people, which is 766,472 (2.11 times) more than in the same period in 2021.
