BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. A total of 29,400 tons of sunflower were harvested in Azerbaijan in 2022, Trend reports via Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the ministry, the growth of sunflower production totaled 13.8 percent compared to 2021.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the value of agricultural production at current prices equaled 10.9 billion manat ($6.4 billion) in 2022, which is 3.4 percent more than in 2021. During the reporting period, the production of livestock products in value terms increased by 3.4 percent, to 5.446 billion manat ($3.2 billion), while the crop production – by 3.3 percent, to 5.538 billion manat ($3.2 billion).
A total of 29,400 tons of sunflowers were harvested from an area of 11,500 hectares. The average yield was 23 quintals per hectare.
