BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. The total number of successful operations through Azerbaijan's Epoint.az e-commerce platform exceeds 257,400, Founder and Executive Director of Epoint.az startup Zeynal Karimzada told Trend.

According to him, the average transaction amount is 66.82 manat ($39.3).

"Our company makes a specialty out of technological solutions, business optimization systems, e-commerce and cashless payments," Karimzada said.

He stressed that the total turnover of the platform is now exceeding 17.2 million manat ($10.1 million), and the overall number of registered customers reaches nearly 322.

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan, in line with the requirements of the bank's Digital Payments Strategy for 2021-2023, aims to increase the share of non-cash settlements via payment cards up to 48 percent within the country. As part of this strategy, it's scheduled to raise the share of contactless payment cards in the market up to 75 percent.

In total, 6.6 trillion transactions worth over $100 trillion are conducted daily in the e-commerce sector worldwide. North America and Asia predominate by the e-commerce market size.
