Türkiye discloses freight traffic from China through local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. Turkish ports handled 1.78 million tons of cargo from China from January through February 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 2,752 tons of cargo, while ships under the flags of other countries – 1.75 million tons to local ports.

During this period, 27,715 tons of cargo were transshipped by China-flagged ships to Turkish ports. A total of 328,309 tons of transit freight were transported from China to Turkish ports.

The domestic ports handled 27.55 million tons of freight in February 2023.

In the reporting period, ships flying the flag of Türkiye transshipped 2.2 million tons, whereas ships under the flags of other countries equaled 25.3 million tons.

In February 2023, the ports of Türkiye delivered 5.6 million tons of transit cargo.

A total of 59.6 million tons of freight were transferred by Turkish ports in the first two months of 2023.

During this period, cargo traffic by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 4.15 million tons, whilst by ships under the flags of other countries – 55.49 million tons.

From January through February 2023, Turkish ports transshipped 12.1 million tons of transit cargo.
