BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. About 137,270 tons of greenhouse tomatoes were exported from Azerbaijan to Russia in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
According to the Russian government service, Azerbaijan's share in the total volume of tomato imports to Russia reached 37 percent last year.
Moreover, a total of 412,700 tons of greenhouse vegetables were imported to Russia in the reporting year, which is 12.9 percent less in annual comparison.
During the reporting period, the country imported 371,000 tons of greenhouse tomatoes and 41,500 tons of cucumbers. Imports of these vegetables decreased by 13.1 percent and 11.5 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan, in 2022, Azerbaijan as a whole exported tomatoes worth $167.6 million, which is 4.62 percent higher than the same period of the preceding year.
