BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Food products worth $9.3 billion were imported to Azerbaijan from Russia's Stavropol region in the first quarter of 2023, Trend reports via the Ministry of Economic Development of the Stavropol region.
According to the ministry, Azerbaijan mainly purchased flour and poultry meat from January through March 2023. Thus, in the reporting period, Azerbaijan's import of flour from Stavropol increased by 85 percent, reaching $2.7 million, and that of poultry meat increased by 2.3 times, to $2.3 million.
"In the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan was listed among the top-3 importers of food products from Stavropol," said the statement.
Meanwhile, according to Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee, the volume of agricultural output in Azerbaijan at current prices amounted to 1.34 billion manat ($764.7 million) from January through March 2023, which is 3.4 percent higher than in 2022. During this period, livestock production in value terms increased by 3.5 percent, to 1.2 billion manat ($743.5 million), and crop production grew by 1.3 percent, to 76 million manat ($44.7 million).
