BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Turkish Tekirdag port totally handled 10.39 million tons of cargo from January through May 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, in the reporting period ships under the Turkish flag transported 330,354 tons of cargo via the Tekirdag port, and ships under the flags of other countries - 10.06 million tons.
Meanwhile, 6.1 million tons of transit cargo were transshipped via the mentioned port.
The Turkish ports totally handled over 35.48 million tons of cargo in May 2023.
Over 2.5 million tons of cargo were handled by ships under the Turkish flag.
In May this year, more than 32.9 million tons of cargo were handled in Turkish ports by ships under the flags of other countries.
Meanwhile, the ports handled 5.49 million tons of transit cargo.
From January through May 2023, the ports of Türkiye handled 160.76 million tons of cargo.
Moreover, in the specified period, cargo handling by ships under the country's flag amounted to 11.4 million tons, while cargo transportation through the ports by ships under the flags of other countries totaled 149.3 million tons.
During the first five months of 2023, Turkish ports handled 28.9 million tons of transit cargo.
