BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. A total of 1.4 million taxpayers (87.3 percent are individuals, 12.7 percent are legal entities and organizations) were registered in Azerbaijan as of August 1, 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the total number of taxpayers increased by 7.3 percent, including individuals (7 percent) and legal entities (9.3 percent), compared to the same period last year.
A total of 9,133 commercial enterprises were registered in Azerbaijan from January through July 2023. Of these, 82.1 percent were registered electronically.
Moreover, 1,262 limited liability companies (LLCs) with local investments have been registered using the new registration method (passport PIN and phone number).
There were 1.4 million registered taxpayers in Azerbaijan as of January 1, 2023.
