BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. Revenues to the state budget of Azerbaijan through the State Customs Committee increased by 19.41 percent from January through July 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
According to the State Customs Committee, revenues exceeded 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion) during the reporting period.
Revenues from customs duties to the state budget increased by 21.47 percent (160.6 million manat, or $94.4 million) and amounted to 909.1 million manat ($534.7 million) during the reporting period of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, VAT revenues totaled 2.5 billion manat, or $1.4 billion, up 18.48 percent from the same period in 2022. Excise tax revenues were 121.8 million manat, or $71. 6 million, up 42.72 percent, and road tax revenues were 26.4 million manat, or $15.5 million, down 24.17 percent.
Additionally, the State Customs Committee's contributions to the national budget of Azerbaijan increased from 2021 to 2022 by 30.21%, or 5.6 billion manat ($3.2 billion).
By 111.29 percent in 2021, the State Customs Committee exceeded the anticipated revenue to the state budget. 440.3 million manat ($258.9 million) in excess of the projected amount was transferred to the state budget.
Thus, the Committee transferred 4.3 billion manat ($2.5 billion) to the state budget in 2021, which is 10.3 percent more compared to 2020.
