BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. The Turkish port of Marmara handled 355,522 tons of cargo from January through July 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, ships under the flag of Türkiye through the port of Marmara did not transship any cargo during this period. However, 355,522 tons of cargo were transshipped by ships under the flags of other countries.
"The Turkish port of Marmara did not transship any transit cargo from January through July 2023, " said the ministry.
In July 2023, 32.5 million tons of cargo were delivered to Turkish ports.
During this time, Turkish-flagged ships brought in 2.4 million tons of cargo, whereas foreign-flagged ships brought in 30 million tons. Additionally, 6.1 million tons of transit goods were shipped from Turkish ports in July 2023.
In addition, from January through July 2023, Turkish ports received 227 million tons of cargo.
Cargo transportation by Turkish-flagged vessels through domestic ports amounted to 16.8 million tons.
