BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 30. From January to October 2023, the volume of trade turnover in Azerbaijan's Baku climbed by 6.1 percent year on year, totaling 26.7 billion manat ($15.7 billion), Trend reports.
Citing Baku City Statistics Department data, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco goods in Baku's commerce network climbed by 3.1 percent year on year to 15.5 billion manat ($9.1 billion) from January to October 2023, whereas non-food product sales increased by 10.5 percent to 11.1 billion manat ($6.5 billion).
According to the statistics department, 34.4 percent of the realized items originated from legal entities, 50.3 percent from individual entrepreneurs' trade objects, and 15.3 percent from Baku's markets.
The volume of trade turnover in Baku increased by 5 percent in 2022 year-on-year and amounted to 30.8 billion manat ($18.1 billion).
The data of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan shows that Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover grew by 55.36 percent or $18.7 billion in 2022 over year - from $33.9 billion to $52.6 billion.
