Azerbaijan's revenues from pharmaceutical exports surge for 11M2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 20. The export value of Azerbaijan's pharmaceutical products amounted to $14.6 million from January through November 2023, Trend reports via the country's State Customs Committee.

The committee's data showed that this is 6.75 times more year-on-year.

Azerbaijan imported pharmaceutical products worth $520.47 million from January through November this year (down 13.42 percent).

Meanwhile, imports of pharmaceutical products amounted to 3.29 percent of Azerbaijan's total imports, while exports amounted to 0.05 percent of total exports.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover decreased by 3.84 percent, or $1.8 billion, from January through November 2023 year-on-year, from $49.2 billion to $47.3 billion.

Exports accounted for $31.5 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is $4.8 billion, or 13.27 percent less year-on-year. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 66.59 percent, up from 73.83 percent a year earlier.

Azerbaijan's imports grew by $2.9 billion, or 22.76 percent, in the above-mentioned period, year-on-year, from $12.8 billion to about $15.8 billion. The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 33.41 percent, up from 26.17 percent a year earlier.

As a result, the balance of foreign trade turnover, while remaining positive from January through November 2023, declined by over $7.7 billion, or 33.06 percent, to $15.7 billion from $23.4 billion year-on-year.
