BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. The total volume of insurance premiums on voluntary types of insurance in Azerbaijan amounted to 191 million manat ($112.2 million) from January through February this year, which is 11.4 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) statistical
report, payments on voluntary types of insurance reached 79.8
million manat ($46.8 million) during the reporting period, up 51.8
percent from the previous year.
Thus, for every 100 manat ($58.7) in insurance premiums, there are
41.8 manat ($24.5) in payments, a considerable increase over the
previous year's total of 30.7 manat.
Meanwhile, 17 insurance companies in Azerbaijan collected 239.7
million manat ($140.8 million) in insurance premiums from January
to February of this year, representing an 8.4 percent increase over
the same time last year.
