BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. The next gathering of the Economic Council of Azerbaijan has come to pass, Trend reports.
The council's head, Prime Minister Ali Asadov, presided over the meeting, which was a comprehensive examination of the state and review budgets for 2025 and the next three years. The meeting also addressed global economic development trends, key scenarios regarding budget forecasts, the current economic situation, and updated macroeconomic projections. Additionally, the meeting addressed target indicators for budget rule parameters for 2024-2028.
The event focused on key aspects of budget policy for 2025-2028, including financing expenditures and the execution of the "Great Return" program aimed at the reconstruction and restoration of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. It also examined the application of medium-term expenditure frameworks and results-based budgeting mechanisms, the current state of macroeconomic and financial stability, and other relevant issues.
Reports were presented by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov, Governor of the Central Bank Taleh Kazimov, and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev.
The meeting was concluded by instructions for relevant bodies to submit all documents and information included in the 2025 budget package to the Cabinet of Ministers for presentation to the President of Azerbaijan, taking into account the opinions and proposals of the Economic Council members.
