ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 16. The Turkmen delegation emphasized the importance of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) pipeline for strengthening energy security and economic cooperation in the region at the 31st OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum, Trend reports via the Turkmen Embassy in Vienna.

In Prague, the delegation, led by the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the OSCE, Ambassador Hemra Amannazarov, actively participated in the forum dedicated to ensuring security and stability in the OSCE region through digital innovation, sustainable development, and climate adaptation.

During the forum, the Turkmen delegation focused particularly on the TAPI project, which Turkmenistan views as a crucial element for ensuring energy security and regional economic cooperation.

The delegation also highlighted national efforts in digitization, including the implementation of the Smart City Arkadag project, and the importance of continued cooperation in water resource management, strengthening energy infrastructure, and combating climate change.

The forum provided participants with a platform to discuss current issues, exchange experiences, and develop solutions aimed at enhancing security and stability in the OSCE region through economic and environmental cooperation.

The final session of the 31st OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum, focusing on security and stability in the region through digital innovation, sustainable development, and climate adaptation, took place on September 12-13, 2024, at the Černín Palace in Prague.

The forum aimed to discuss the economic, environmental, and social impacts of climate change, ensure sustainable economic growth, and promote dialogue between participating states and international organizations.

The session was built on the results of two preparatory meetings held in Vienna, Austria, on April 29-30, 2024, and in St. Julian's, Malta, on June 19-20, 2024.
