BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. The second day of the 4th International Cyber Security Days (ICSD-2024) conference has ended in Baku, Trend reports.
According to information, the conference dedicated to the theme “Cybersecurity for the Green Economy”, organized by the State Special Communication and Information Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and PROSOL Company, was attended by local and foreign specialists working in the field of cybersecurity, as well as persons responsible for this field in state institutions, private enterprises, and organizations.
Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the National Depository Center of Azerbaijan, Rana Isgandarova, stated that the National Depository Center of Azerbaijan implements strict data protection measures.
“We, as the National Depository Center of Azerbaijan, hold the country's key information and may be subject to cyberattacks. We implement strict data protection measures, including encryption, access control, and data minimization, to ensure the security of the information we hold,” she said.
She noted that the center's mission is to create a reliable, efficient, and sustainable depository ecosystem focused on capital market development and promotion of digital-first services, which is detailed in the center's strategy.
Isgandarova stressed that the center is currently undergoing a process of digitalization, which requires a high-quality IT system.
Meanwhile, Director General of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Vusal Khalilov, stated that the CBA provides IT specialists with an opportunity to realize their potential.
“We have already said that there is a problem with attracting talented personnel in the country. In the case of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, we are less affected by this problem. Talented specialists are eager to join our team,” he noted.
Khalilov added that highly qualified IT specialists and cyber security experts should be provided with conditions in which they can develop and realize their potential. He emphasized that the Central Bank offers these people the opportunity to work in such an environment.
“We often talk about the lack of resources in security, a little less in IT, and even less in business. But overall, the level is about the same. Highly skilled people must have incentives to help develop their talents and provide growth opportunities,” he said.
The general director also mentioned the importance of all departments working towards a common goal.
“We often hear about the conflict between IT and security or between business and IT. I believe the main reason for this is the lack of a common goal. Management needs to spend a lot of time and effort explaining to the entire team that the organization needs to move in the same direction. There is no separate goal for cybersecurity, there is no separate goal for IT, and there is no separate goal for the business - they are all common goals for the organization. That's the most important thing,” he added.
