ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 30. Lithuania, in collaboration with Kazakhstan, supports the initiative to develop the Trans-European transport network with the Trans-Caspian route, which will enhance international multimodal transport, Trend reports.

This topic was discussed during a bilateral business forum held in Astana, attended by representatives from Lithuania and Kazakhstan.

The event, organized by the Lithuanian Embassy in Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Foreign Trade Chamber, and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken," included participants from the Kazakhstan Transport Union "Kazlogistics," industry associations, and businesses.

The Vice Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, Julius Skachkauskas, emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics. He noted the successful restoration of the Kazakhstan-Lithuania Business Council and the significance of developing the Trans-Caspian route.

The forum featured presentations from Lithuanian and Kazakhstani companies, as well as B2B meetings. The General Director of Kazlogistics, Kanat Almagambetov, held talks with the Lithuanian side. The parties discussed the establishment of a working group composed of business representatives to address emerging issues and develop mutually acceptable solutions, which would then be communicated to the authorized state bodies of both countries. They also proposed to work on a mechanism for terminal permits.

"The Business Council actively promotes investment development between the two countries. For many years, we have been working to increase trade turnover and the transit potential of Kazakhstan and Lithuania," emphasized Murat Amrin, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken".

As a result of the event, acting Deputy Chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken," Asan Zhakishev, and the Vice President of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK), Romas Austinskas, signed the Regulations of the Kazakhstan-Lithuania Business Council.
