ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 17. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the invitation of King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein, is scheduled to embark on an official diplomatic mission to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, set to transpire from February 18 through 19, Trend reports.
During the visit, strategic dialogues will be conducted, focused on enhancing synergies in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian domains.
Recently, the 5th session of the Kazakhstan-Jordan intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation was held in Amman, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Baibazarov and Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Yarub Al-Qudah.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan were inaugurated on February 9, 1993. On his final official visit to Kazakhstan from October 31 to November 1, 2017, King Abdullah received the "Nursultan Nazarbayev Prize for his contribution to a world without nuclear weapons and global security." Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, and His Majesty the King convened at the 74th and 77th sessions of the UN General Assembly in 2019 and 2022 in New York. Bilateral legislative relations are also actively progressing. The leaders of both chambers of the Jordan Parliament attended the Fourth Meeting of Speakers of the Parliaments of the Eurasian Countries, conducted on September 23-24, 2019, in Astana.
