Gold leaching and extraction mining and processing complex will be constructed in Zhetikara district of Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region with attraction of $25 million worth of investments, Deputy Head of Zhetikara district Salim Kasenov told Trend.
According to Kasenov, the capacity of the Phase-1 of the complex will be 350,000 tons of gold ore a year, whereas the annual gold production will be 350 kg.
“The project includes license obtaining for Atygai field development in 2020, as well as attraction of bank funding and construction of the Phase 1 of the complex with commissioning in 2021,” Kasenov said.
He also added that Phase-1 of the mining and processing complex will reach its designed capacity and receive net profit in 2022.
As was earlier noted by Head of Zhetikara district Abay Ibrayev, gold leaching and extraction plant will be constructed in the district. He said that the construction of a plant, which will create 300 new work places, will start next year.
Ibrayev added that the gold ore extraction the Zhetikara district increased by a million ton this year, which is 52 percent more than the average extracted volume.
