An innovative research and production pharmaceutical cluster Tashkent Pharma will appear in the Kibray region of Uzbekistan according to the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Trend reports via Uzbekistan National News Agency.
The goal of the project is to organize production of innovative and high-quality medicines, medical devices and equipment to meet the demand of the population for these products as well as ensure training of pharmaceutical industry specialists on the basis of international educational standards and in relevant specialties, the consistent integration of pharmaceutical education in international training program, and further development of the pharmaceutical sector in the country.
The cluster will include the Pharmaceutical Technical University with its own infrastructure.
A preliminary agreement has been reached on attracting long-term soft loans from the Korean government through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) to create the university and its infrastructure.
Under the resolution, the Directorate for Cluster Development of Tashkent Pharma Park was established. Its activities will be coordinated by the Pharmaceutical Sector Development Agency of the Ministry of Health.
