Volume of construction work Uzbekistan made up 4.4 trillion soum ($464.1 million) in Jan. 2020, and the growth rate against January 2019 reached 7.7 percent, Trend reports with the reference to Committee of Statistics of Uzbekistan.
The volume of construction carried out by large construction organizations in January 2020 made up 482.1 million soum ($50.4 million). In comparison with January 2019, the amount of work done increased by 5.5 percent.
The volume of construction work carried out by small enterprises and micro-firms, compared to other organizations, increased significantly in January 2020, their share amounted to 69.2 percent of the total, which is 1.2 percent more, compared to January 2019.
Thus, the volume of construction work carried out by them made up 3.1 billion soum ($320.9 million) and compared to January 2019, the growth rate reached 9.2 percent.
The share of construction in the informal sector made up 20 percent or 887.4 million soum ($92.7 million) in January 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, and the growth rate reached 14.5 percent compared to January 2019.
A significant part of operations was carried out in January 2020 on construction of new buildings and structures. Some 70.7 percent of the total volume of construction work or 3.1 billion soum ($328.1 million) was creation of new production capacities in economic, housing and utilities sectors.
Large construction organizations carried out constructions for 397 billion soum ($41.5 million) or 82.4 percent of the total volume of new construction objects. Small enterprises and micro-firms carried out construction work for 1.9 trillion soum ($206.8 million) or 64.4 percent of the total volume of new buildings.
The share in the total volume of constructions carried out by large construction organizations in the overall structure of buildings and structures was 6.1 percent and decreased by 0.4 percent compared to January 2019.
As compared with January 2019, the share of small enterprises and micro-firms in this type of activity increased by 2.4 percent and amounted to 65.4 percent in January 2020.
The share of the informal sector, decreased by two percent and amounted to 28.5 percent.
