South Korean Hyundai Engineering Corporation may take a part in the modernization of the heat supply system of Quvasoy city (Fergana region) by introducing cogeneration technologies, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo News Agency.
This became known during a video conference between the administration of the Fergana Region and the administration of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.
The parties exchanged information on the state of the Quvasoy Power Plant, prospects for its reconstruction or construction of a new facility and thoroughly considered financing of the project on modernization of the heat supply system of Quvasoy.
The South Korean side expressed interest in the project and readiness to send the company specialists to Fergana region to meet with the responsible managers and get acquainted with the facility. It was also proposed to sign a memorandum of understanding on the project implementation.
Following the negotiations, sides agreed to continue discussion and sign a bilateral document on the examination of Quvasoy city heat supply system by Hyundai Engineering specialists.
Currently, Hyundai Engineering jointly with Hyundai Engineering & Construction are carrying out a construction of two combined-cycle plants at Takhiatash Thermal Power Plant with a total cost of $678.2 million.

In particular, this company has acted as the general contractor in the construction of 65 percent of nuclear power plants in South Korea (15 reactors) and abroad (four reactors in the UAE).
