The construction of 14 port facilities has been started in the Chabahar port of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) with the investments of 14.9 trillion rials (about $355 million), said Behrouz Aghaei, the Director General of Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran’s (PMO) branch in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Trend reports referring to the PMO’s website.
According to him, of these facilities, 5 port facilities are being built with an investment of 9.14 trillion rials (about $217 million) by private sector.
Aghaei added that these facilities are 1 storehouse for petrochemical products, 1 warehouse, 2 storage facilities for oil products, 1 truck disinfection terminal.
The director general emphasized that in addition, 9 port facilities are being built with an investment of 5.8 trillion rials (about $138 million) by state sector. These facilities are 2 storage facilities for oil products, 1 storage facility for crude oil and 6 warehouses.
“Iran's exports to African countries, Pakistan, India and South East Asia will increase with the launch of these facilities,” he noted.
