The infrastructural works which are currently underway at Batumi International Airport of Georgia, are nearing completion, Trend reports via the airport.
The total price of the investment was up to $17 million. According to the plan, infrastructural works will be finished by the end of February 2021.
As a result, the capacity of the Batumi International Airport will be doubled. Thus, the airport will be able to serve 1.20 million passengers annually.
According to the international airport, frame and roofing works have been completed. Also, baggage handling zone expansion works and new baggage carousel belt, and new x-ray installation works have been finalized.
Alexander Kartveli Batumi International Airport is an airport located 2 km south of Batumi, a city on the Black Sea coast and capital of Adjara, an autonomous republic in southwest Georgia.
