Uzbekistan increases volume of completed construction work

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 17

The volume of construction work completed in Uzbekistan from January through November 2020 in value terms amounted to 77.9 billion soums ($7.44 million), which is 8.7 percent more compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, the share of small enterprises and micro firms among completed construction work amounted to 55.6 percent.

According to the State Statistics Committee, in general, the number of enterprises and organizations in the construction sector as of early December reached 40,700 and compared to the same period last year, it increased by 4,400.

Some 58.1 percent of the total volume of construction enterprises is related to the construction of buildings and facilities, 9.3 percent - to the construction of civil facilities, 32.6 percent are specialized construction work.

The largest number of construction enterprises completed in Uzbekistan fell on Tashkent city, amounting to 7,804 enterprises. It is followed by the Tashkent region - 3,540, the Kashkadarya region - 3,285, and the Fergana region - 3,211.

A significant part of the work was carried out from January through November 2020 for the construction of new buildings and facilities. Thus, 70.4 percent of the total volume of construction work, or 54.8 billion soums ($5.23 million), were directed to the creation of new production facilities in the economy, housing and communal services, and other social facilities.
