TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.19

Trend:

The National Housing Action Plan affects the prices in the housing market, the head of Iran's Property Advisers Union told Trend in an interview.

The increase of cement and steel prices will not have a significant effect on housing prices unless reports of the Central Bank of Iran and Statistical Centre of Iran's analysis create instability, Mostafa Gholi Khosravi noted.

A total of 2 million applicants registered in the National Housing Action Plan so far, the government is expected to start the construction of 800,000 housing units immediately.

The Defense Ministry has announced that it created technologies that could build 15 story buildings in a short time, he indicated.

The affordable housing plan will reduce the housing price in Tehran, and maintaining supply and demand levels will be effective in the market, he explained.

Housing prices have not increased due to the progress in the national housing plan. However, the prices of construction items such as cement could be effective in the market.

The government has a landmark housing plan to build four million residential units in the next four years to maintain the surging prices in the housing market.
