BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 29. As many as 1,300 km-long highways are currently being built in Iran’s Razavi Khorasani Province in north-east of the country, Deputy Minister of Iran's Roads and Urban Development, and CEO of Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructure Company (CDTIC), Kheirollah Khademi said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

Khademi noted that the highways are expected to be put into use within the next 3 years.

The deputy minister added that there is currently a 30-percent physical progress in the construction of the mentioned highways.

“In addition, a 54 km long highway is expected to be built between Mashhad city and Chenaran County in Razavi Khorasan Province,” he said.

According to the Khademi, a total of 50 trillion rials (about $1.19 billion) is estimated to be spent on the construction of highways in Razavi Khorasan Province.
