Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corrr. S.Babayeva / Pick of cotton began in Azerbaijan. The volume of picked cotton made up 3,400 tons by 10 September 207, which is by 80.6% lower as compared to the same period in 2006, the State Statistic Committee reported.
The Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry reported on 13 September that the main reason for decrease of production cause weather conditions during sowing.
The volume of cotton picked in Saatli region of Azerbaijan made up 1,133 tons, Sabirabad - 620 tons, Imishli - 344 tons, Barda -144 tons and Bilasuvar - 412 tons.
Cotton is planted in 21 regions of Azerbaijan.
The volume of cotton production in Azerbaijan in 2007 made up 100,000, and 103,000 in 2006.
