Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / The Azerbaijani Bank Associations (ABA) is considering the possibility of join the European Bank Association Federation, Farhad Aliyev, the Executive Director of the Association said on 20 September.
"The Association received a preliminary agreement and list of demands to join the Federation," Aliyev said. However, the ABA will officially refer to the Federation for participation after the decision of the presidium of the Association at the upcoming meeting. All necessary preparations for development of the documents are being made.
Participation in the organization will allow the ABA to improve its cooperation with the Bank Association of Europe and to receive additional information necessary in the process.
The ABA will join the International Coordinating Council of the Bank Associations of CIS and Central and Eastern European countries in the near future. The decision on joining the organization was made during the meeting of the ABA on 7 July.
