Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Proposals to construct the Turkish section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway have been submitted to the Turkey's General Directorate on Construction of Railways, Ports and Airports, JTW reports. The proposals will be assessed within two days.
Applications have been submitted from 14 companies. The consortium OzgunYap?-Celikler made the lowest proposal in the amount of 289.8mln Turkish liras. The consortium Nurol-Tekfen proposed the highest prices in amount of 693.4mln Turkish liras. Initially the tender commission allocated 380mln Turkish liras for the project.
The preliminary cost of the project is assessed at $422mln, with $202mln intended for work in the Georgian part of the railway and $220mln in the Turkish part of the railway.
