Azerbaijani-Moscow Inter-Governmental Commission’s Meeting to Take Place in Baku

Azernaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The sixth meeting of the Azerbaijani-Moscow Inter-Governmental Commission for Economic Co-operation will take place in Baku. The delegation of the Moscow Government, headed by the Vice-Governor, Ludmila Shevtsov, will arrive in Baku on 3 October, said the economic adviser of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan, Alexander Semenov.

According to diplomat, Shevtsov is the co-chair of Azerbaijani-Moscow Inter-Governmental Commission for Economic Co-operation. From the Azerbaijani side, the Commission is co-chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Yagub Eyyubov. The agenda of the meeting includes large spectrum of questions on co-operation in economic, political, humanitarian spheres.

" Moscow makes a significant contribution in the development of the commercial and economic relations between the two countries. The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Moscow is growing. Thus, if the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Moscow totaled $ 28.7mln in 2001, the figure amounted to $68.6mln in 2006, and in the first half year - $44.1mln" he said.

Semenov said that the program of the visit also includes meetings with Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minster, Artur Rasizade.
