Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The first monitoring in autumn on bird flue began in Azerbaijan on 24 September, Yolchu Khanvali, press-secretary of the State Veterinary Service at the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry, reported.
Monitoring will be carried out by a special commission consisting of specialists from the Veterinary Service, Ecology and Health ministries and the Azerbaijani Hunters Association by 28 September. Monitoring will cover the Absheron Peninsula, and regions of Davachi, Salyan, Agjabadi and Lankaran.
The State Veterinary Service has carried out eight monitoring and as a result some 8,210 samples of wild and domestic animals have been examined. However, no virus has been found.
