Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Gasimova / Making a speech before business people of Azerbaijan and Croatia, the President of Azerbaijan., Ilham Aliyev, stated that next year, the sum of State investments in Azerbaijan's budget will reach $3bln.
"The economy has been fully liberalized in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is a leader in the region for the amount of foreign investment per capita," the President said. He stated that Azerbaijan will continue its policy of attracting foreign investment.
According to the Azerbaijani President, over the last three years, the GDP of the country has reached 96%. He invited business people from Croatia to invest in Azerbaijan's economy and said that it is profitable.
According to Aliyev, Croatian companies may work in Azerbaijan as contractors as well. The President highlighted the possible realization of joint projects by Azerbaijani and Croatian business people, particularly in the shipbuilding sector. According to him, Croatia has vast experience in this and Azerbaijan needs new tankers and cargo vessels. In addition, the President mentioned possible cooperation in pharmacology and tourism.
