Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr.S.Babayeva / Samples of soil taken from Azerbaijan's Barda region where internally displaced persons from the region of Kalbajar reside revealed no traces of anthrax.
Animals in the region have been vaccinated against anthrax, the State Veterinary Service at the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry reported.
Earlier the virus was found to have infected ten internally displaced persons living in the village of Lambaran in the region of Barda. It is supposed the source of the virus was from cattle. The State Veterinary Service carried out laboratory examinations which found no anthrax in cattle.
