Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S. Babayeva / CIS country-members participating in the Intergovernmental Council on Standardization, Metrology and Patents agreed to assess the quality of imported toys, Sabig Abdullayev, the head of the Intergovernmental Relations Department, said. The decision was made during the thirty-second meeting of the organization in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 22 and 24 October.
Participants of the meeting also discussed the Council's strategic plan forecasted until 2015, as well as the creation of intergovernmental technical committees, the development of electronic exchange of information, and many other issues.
The thirty-third meeting of the Intergovernmental Council will be held in Baku in 2008. Ramiz Hasanov, the General Director of the Azerbaijani State Institute on Standardization, Metrology and Patents, will chair the Council from 2007 to 2008.
Attending the meeting are representatives from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Armenia, Tajikistan, as well as the Executive Committee of the CIS countries.
