Attack on Baku-Tyumen Passenger Train in Russia Results in Casualties

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / Some 60 people armed with piercing and cutting facilities attacked passenger train-373/374 going from Baku to Tyumen at Artezian station (North-Caucasus Railways) of the Republic of Kalmykia ( Russian Federation) on 26 October. As a result, 25 people got injured, the spokesman for the Azerbaijani State Railway, Nadir Azmammadov, reported.

According to Azmammadov, the employees of the Azerbaijani State Railway, transport police and soldiers are among the victims.

According to recent reports, 4 seriously injured victims were delivered to Kizlar station (Daghestan), but now only 1 of them is at the medical unit.

The administration of the Azerbaijani State Railway urged the administration of the Russian Railways LLC, North-Caucasus Railways and Russia's transport police to seriously investigate the incident and to undertake relevant measures.

Azerbaijani Interior Office is unaware of the incident.
