World Economic Forum Assesses   Azerbaijan’s Economy

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend U.Ismaylova / The World Economic Forum published an annual report: 'The Global Competitiveness Report 2007- 2008' in which Azerbaijan took 66th place in the world competitiveness ranking of economy.

The current situation of the Russian economy was assessed at 58th position in the ranking, Kazakhstan - 61, Uzbekistan - 62, Tajikistan - 117 and Kyrgyzstan - 119.

The USA tops the ranking amongst 131 countries. The top 10 of the most competitive countries included Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Singapore, Japan, Great Britain and the Netherlands.

The World Economic Forum is an independent organization with headquarters in Geneva. The organization's key goal is to improve the economic situation in the world.
