Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Construction implemented in Azerbaijan from January to October made up AZN 1.9bln, which is 48.8% up on the same period of 2006, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.
Construction work carried out by state enterprises amounted to AZN 554.6mln and that of private entities comprised AZN 1.3bln.
New buildings, reconstruction and expansion constituted 75.5% of the construction (AZN 1.4bln), renovations - 14.2% (AZN 271.1mln), corrective maintenance - 4.9% (AZN 94.7mln) and other construction - 5.4% (AZN 103.4mln).
In January to September, the average monthly wage of those employed in construction comprised AZN 381, a 9.9% increase as compared to 2006.
Wages of employees in large construction companies made up AZN 456.
