Azerbaijani Processing Center to Transfer to Differentiated Tariff Policy

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / Due to the increase of cards issued via Millikard and number of POS-terminals, the tariffs will be re-considered for the service via the Processing Center, said the Director of the Processing Center, Jalal Orujov, on 23 November.

"According to the world practice, we want to transfer to the differentiated tariff policy," Orujov said.

According to the active tariff policy, personalization of the most expensive chip cards in Millikard amounts to $2,5-3 and magnetic - $1.5. The tariff for taking cash via ATMs and POS-terminals makes up AZN 0.05 for each transaction.

Today the number of POS-terminals in Azerbaijan equals 1.000 and ATMs - 200. Orujov considers that it is possible to transfer to the differentiated tariff policy from the second quarter of 2008. in addition, Millicard intends to support development of the activity of three new Azerbaijani banks in this market - AzerturkBank, Debut Bank and Azerbaijan Senaye Banki.

Up to now, 50.000 cards have been issued via 10 banks which render service in Millikard and possibly by the end of the year, will increase by 5.000.

Millikart LTD was established on 14 July 2006. Atabank, Azerdemiryolbank, Azerturkbank, Bank of Baku, CIBank, Debyutbank, Amrahbank, Khalqbank, Kredobank, the Azerbaijani Micro-Finance Bank, ParaBank, Rabitabank, Bank Respublika Bank Standart, Tehnikabank, UniBank and Zaminbank are founders of the centre.
