Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations Inspects 220 Buildings for Security Construction Violation

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations have inspected up to 220 buildings and 550 buildingsare still to be inspected. Several violations have been revealed and the Ministry has notified the relevant construction companies of the contravention of security, Jabrayil Khanlarov, the head of the Agency on Control over Security in Construction at the Emergency Situations Ministry, said.

Simultaneously the Ministry is continuing to implement intensive inspections of buildings that have been constructed, Khanlarov said during the meeting of the Caspian Sea Integration Business Club (CIBC).

After the collapse of the building in Baku on 28 August, the Ministry is currently developing standard documents which will regulate the construction in the country. Moreover, the Ministry is to meet with other construction companies by December 2008, Orujali Hajiyev, Deputy Emergency Situations Minster, said.

CIBC was established in July 2002 through the active participation of the International Publishing House Caspian Energy and through the support of the biggest oil and gas companies operating in the Caspian-Black Sea region. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has been CIBC's chairman since 2002.

Today CIBC unites about 500 companies of the Caspian-Black Sea and Baltic regions.
