Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / Around 3,450 people were appointed new jobs as a result of a labour fair held on 6 and 7 December in Baku, the Central Engagement Department of the Azerbaijani Labour and Social Protection reported.
"However, the exact number of newly appointed workers will be announced by the end of December," stated in the Department.
In total 1,000 entrepreneurs-employees took part in the fair including locals and foreigners. The companies proposed around 7,000 jobs.
The Department regularly implements labour fairs in order to decrease unemployment in the country.
The State Statistic Committee announced the number of officially registered unemployed people totalled 51,300. Around 1,400 people receive an unemployment allowance in Azerbaijan.
