New ICARDA Coordinator for Central Asia and S.Caucasus to Visit Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Babayeva / Christopher Martius, the newly appointed coordinator of ICARDA for Central Asia and South Caucasus, is expected to visit Baku in January. He will take his new office on 1 January, the Agrarian Scientific Center of the Agriculture Ministry said.

"The visit is of familiarity character," the Ministry said.

Martius will hold meetings with different departments of the Agriculture Ministry and discuss prospects of development of cooperation and opportunities for implementation of joint projects.

ICARDA, established in 1977, is one the fifteen centres located al over the World and supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). The Organization with its headquarters in Aleppo ( Syria) is working through a network of cooperation with national, regional, and international institution, universities, NGOs, as well as ministries in developing countries, and prosperous research institutes in industrial countries.
