OPEC crude price rises 2.47 dollars

dpa ) - The price for crude oil produced by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) rose sharply by the end of last week after several days of decline.

According to calculations by the OPEC Secretariat on Monday, one barrel ( 159 litres) of OPEC crude stood at 87.05 dollars last Friday, up 2.47 dollars from the previous day.

Next Friday, OPEC's 13 members will meet in Vienna for their next regular gathering.

The Vienna-based OPEC Secretariat calculates an average basket price based on twelve important brands produced by cartel members.
