OPEC crude price cracks 95-dollar-mark

(dpa) - The price for crude produced by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) rose above 95 dollars for the first time ahead of an OPEC meeting next week, where the cartel will discuss possible production cuts.

According to the Vienna-based OPEC secretariate from Thursday, one barrel (159 litres) of crude from OPEC's reference basket of 12 important brands stood at 95.20 dollars on Wednesday, compared to 94.09 dollars the previous day.
