(dpa) - Disruption continued at London Heathrow airport's new multi-billion-pound Terminal 5 (T5) on Monday with British Airways (BA) cancelling 54 flights.

Around 250 flights have been cancelled since T5 opened on Thursday due to ongoing problems with the terminal's baggage-handling system.

A BA spokesman couldn't say when normal service would begin at the terminal.

Some 15,000 pieces of luggage had built up by Sunday and around 400 BA employees gave up their free time to eliminate the backlog.

A team of engineers and IT experts were also at work on the problem.
